At Drama Teens, we believe there is something missing for creative youths. We have noticed there are teens everywhere full of creativity and passion, often with the desire to break into the acting industry but without the skills, knowledge or contacts required to succeed.
Some teens are studying GCSE/A Level and may be thinking of applying for drama schools or further education but have never experienced an audition (a pre requisite for most higher education settings). Others may just be looking for somewhere to pursue their passions and channel their creativity. And some may want real guidance in how to spring board into the industry, secure themselves an agent and network with casting directors.
So why Drama Teens?
Our innovative programmes are designed to inspire creativity, build confidence and nurture talent. We know what agents and casting directors are looking for and have a selection of industry professionals on hand for guest workshops and mock auditions which allows students to be 'seen' whilst learning their craft. We also offer the option of building a portfolio so that teens have something to say when reaching out to agents. Or for those who just want to have fun and love acting...we simply provide an outlet for developing skills, doing what we love and building confidence. All whilst having fun and creating our own Drama Teens network in a safe and inclusive space.
Services
Performance Development
Weekly workshops to explore performance and who we are as individual actors. No experience required...just a passion for performance and lots of energy and ideas! Discover your own castability and craft industry standard skills whilst building confidence, lifting self esteem and having fun with improvisation, devising and script work. Regular attendees of our weekly sessions will be invited to take part in performance showcases throughout the year.
Acting for Screen
This is a 7 week course that is aimed at developing professional teen actors who stand out from the crowd. No experience required. Develop the qualities desired by casting directors, understand acting for camera, develop technical knowledge and take part in a mock casting in front of guest actors/casting directors/producers who are currently working in the industry...all whilst having fun and unleashing your own creativity working on real tv drama, soap and film scripts.
At the end of every 7 week course, students will be given 1 element (eg, a filmed performance clip/marketing templates/headshot) to help them build their own portfolio and market themselves professionally as an actor.
Selftape and Audition Preparation
Prepare for selftape submissions and auditions with our 1 to 1 coaching and feedback sessions, helping teens to showcase their talent and stand out in the casting/audition process.
School Workshops
Experienced industry professionals lead exciting group workshops in schools to help students build confidence and boost self esteem whilst they develop their acting skills and learn about the professional industry. We also offer mock audition workshops to allow students the opportunity to showcase their talent prior to exams and receive direction and feedback from us. DBS and Public Liability certificates provided on request.
